Zemp Contemporary Art is a dynamic abstract collection of pieces from Swiss artist, Martin Zemp. Branching out from his usual artistic stylings, this new collection taps into everyday life through the rich energy of the abstract world. The unapologetic brushstrokes and bold colors grasp the intensity of each subject in every large scale piece, drawing viewers into his world. In addition to creating a website framework for the team, CKO Media Group was tasked with developing a logo to use for the website.
First Logo Iteration
The design process for this logo centered on creating a sleek, modern representation of the client's artist identity. The bold "Z" shape was crafted with clean, geometric lines to evoke simplicity and balance, while the extended horizontal line symbolizes connection and continuity. The addition of "ART" in a modern, sans-serif font provides clarity and reinforces the creative focus. Through iterative refinements, the final design achieves a contemporary aesthetic that is both versatile and visually striking.
The Final Design
The shift from the initial logo design to this updated version reflects a deeper collaboration with the client to capture the expressive and dynamic nature of their work. While the original design emphasized clean, geometric minimalism, the updated logo introduces bold, painterly brushstrokes to convey a sense of artistic movement and individuality. Through discussions with the client, the need to align the logo more closely with their creative process and medium emerged, leading to a design that feels more organic and personal. The inclusion of the word "ART" in a handwritten style further enhances the connection to the artist’s unique identity, resulting in a visually compelling and authentic representation of their brand.
