Project One:
Design an Art Auction App for a Gallery
September - October 2023
The purpose of this app is to help patrons and gallerists navigate through the nuance of placing bids on art from established and up and coming artists. This creates an intuitive space to participate in art auctions.
Below illustrates an overview of the design process with links to the low and high fidelity prototypes, followed by a link to the full portfolio project.
Paper Wireframe
After conducting user research by creating personas, their respective journey maps, and establishing user pain points (cohesion, accessibility, and communication), paper wireframes were created within a storyboard. This storyboard illustrates the user journey from start to finish.
Digital Wireframes
Based on the illustrations, the mockups were created in Figma. The idea is the user will need an account to access the app and with that, they’ll have premium access to the auction archive. The link to the low-fidelity prototype is below, followed by an overview of the user flow.
Final Mockup
To represent the brand’s elegance and simplicity, a soft yet rich color palette was created to enhance the established typography. The user flow illustrates how one would navigate through the bidding process, as shown in the overview below. Additionally, the high-fidelity prototype is linked below.
