Project Three:

UX Design for Social Good | Public Art Museum

December 2023

The final project for the certificate was to create an app and responsive website as part of UX Design for Social Good. The following prompt was chosen: Design an app and a responsive website for a public art museum to advertise exhibitions and events, provide museum information to patrons, and schedule visits. The main focus is for users to schedule visits as a patron and as a guest for an upcoming events.

Below illustrates an overview of the design process of the app and website with links to the low and high fidelity prototypes, followed by a link to the full portfolio project.

Paper Wireframe

In an effort to implement the identified user pain points: lack of simplicity, cohesion, and intuitive navigation, paper wireframes were sketched to start the process.

Digital Wireframe

Minimalism is at the forefront of this design, allowing the user to focus on the ultimate goal of viewing and scheduling events. Below is a link to the interactive prototype and an overview of the user flow options.

Final Mockup

To adhere to the minimalist design, a neutral color palette was chosen for the final mockup. The high-fidelity prototype linked below showcases the option to sign up for two different events (within the week or month) either as a patron or as a guest. The overview below shows the full user flow.

Paper Wireframe

In the interest of continuity and brand recognition, the wireframes for the responsive website are similar to the app. This wireframe is designed to work with the respective dimensions for a desktop, tablet, and mobile device.

Digital Wireframe

As noted, the website is responsive to the three device types. Additionally, the minimalist design and layout is similar to that of the app. The low-fidelity prototype linked below, as well as the interactive overview, displays the user flow on a website.

Final Mockup

Just like the app, the website follows the same color scheme and typography to maintain consistency. As shown in the photos, the layout is similar throughout all device types to avoid confusion in navigation. Below is the link to the high-fidelity prototype as well as the interactivity overview.
